The Cellar
Among the hills of Piazza Armerina and Caltagirone stands our majestic winery. Ready to tell you its story.
Where Time Became Wine
Tradition, innovation, and a love for the land: the heart of Gigliotto Tenute.
The Construction of the Monastery
It was the Benedictine monks who laid the first stones of the baglio, conceiving the structure as the beating heart of their reclamation and agricultural activities.
The Savoca Family
The Savoca family purchases and fully restores the Gigliotto estate. The project to restore the ancient Benedictine monastery and initiate agricultural activities begins.
The Agriturismo is Born
The Gigliotto agriturismo opens its doors: 26 Baroque-style rooms, a restaurant with 250 indoor seats and a panoramic terrace, a swimming pool, and event spaces. The estate becomes a hub for Sicilian hospitality.
The Modern Cellar
Elio Savoca inaugurates the winery: 6,000 sqm built with natural materials—wood and stone—to ensure optimal insulation and thermal control. The first Gigliotto Tenute labels are created.
14 Labels, 200 Hectares
Over 14 premium labels, 25 hectares of south-facing Guyot-trained vineyards, organically certified for over twenty years. Gigliotto Tenute is today a benchmark for Sicilian wine worldwide.
